VINTAGE MADEIRA BY FRANCISCAN 7 INCH SOUP/CEREAL BOWL RARE EXCONDITION

Description: Hard to find vintage Madeira by Franciscan 7 inch Soup/Cereal Bowl which is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or even utensil scratching. I'm not sure this piece was ever used. This bowl measures 7 inches in diameter and is 2 inches in height - perfect for soups, stews or cereal. Madeira is a rich brown color with a lighter green accent stripe. I purchased a small set at a local estate sale and there was only 1 soup bowl. The heirs indicated their mother received the set as a wedding gift and there was only 1 soup bowl included, so they said she used other patterns for soup/cereal and didn't believe this bowl was ever used. Franciscan introduced Madeira in 1967 and in was quite popular due to the Spanish/Mediterranean style of decorating at that time. It was active until 1983 and the bowls were not part of initial sets - they had to be special ordered, so they were not sold in large quantities. Consequently, both cereal/soup and fruit bowls are somewhat rare and difficult to find. I've priced at a fraction of resale sites. 1. All items I sell either come from or have been stored in a smoke free environment and are sold “as-is”. All items I sell are cleaned, washed, ironed and/or polished as necessary – I do not sell dirty items. I photograph and describe in detail to the best of my ability. I do NOT accept returns, so please read detailed description and look at photos carefully!!! I use my own photos of listing items taken in my home – never stock photos! Note: I don’t recommend shipping fragile or larger packages via USPS. USPS routinely mishandles shipments resulting in delayed delivery and higher than normal damage/loss. UPS/Fedex may be slightly more expensive; however, they handle shipments quickly and carefully and are much more reliable and reputable in the unlikely event of damage/loss! I will be glad to combine multiple purchases to save on shipping costs where feasible. Packages are shipped with tracking and/or insurance. 3. I have been selling on Ebay for over 24 years, and unfortunately, carrier shipping charges and cost of shipping supplies, e.g., tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, boxes and printer ink, etc., have greatly increased in the last few years. I take that into account when setting prices and do my best to provide quality items at reasonable prices, prompt handling, and careful packaging. I try to set the lowest prices on Ebay for items of comparable quality and condition; however I will consider "reasonable" offers.
