VINTAGE MME. ALEXANDER ELISE DOLL IN ORIGINAL CLOTHING

Description: Thank you for visiting this auction for a pretty vintage Madame Alexander Elise doll dressed in original tagged clothing. This is the first offering from my Elise collection that I will be selling over the next few months. The blue check taffeta dress and coordinating hat are from 1958. The doll wearing them is not the doll originally wearing the outfit, and I am guessing she is from 1957 or 1958. The dress and slip underneath are both tagged "Elise." I got a decent picture of the dress tag, but couldn't get a good one of the slip tag, but it is there. She is wearing very nice Elise taffeta panties with good elastic and original seamed stockings with no issues. I think the kitten heels may be replacements, but, if so, they are exactly like the originals. The straw of the hat is now a creamy white. The taffeta of the dress has wonderful body and "rustle." One side of the nylon collar has a frayed area that I treated with Fray Block to keep it from expanding. It feels a little rough. I have shown a black velvet bow resting at the neckline in several pictures that would very nicely cover this flaw and actually add some nice detail to the dress. I will include it, but you might want to make one of your own. A faux pearl bracelet was added, as well as a vintage black patent purse. Elise is 15-1/2 inches tall and has joints at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles. She is all hard plastic except for her vinyl arms. Her stringing is fine. She has nice face paint, mostly green open-close eyes, and all of her brush and painted lashes. Her blonde wig is in nice condition. I didn't notice any cracks in her hard plastic. A note about her slip: It is crisp and never washed, but did need the elastic replaced. The replacement elastic is ultra-tight, and it was a struggle to get it on her over her wider hips. You might want to think twice before removing it. :) This doll has been behind glass in a low-light, air-conditioned room. She comes from a smoke-free home, and a stand is not included.
