Description: This is for a pre-owned Vintage Retired tin sign. "Old Time Cake Walk". Measures 9 inches long x 6 inches tall. W.R. Leigh Artist work around circa 1897. The Cakewalk was a dance developed from the Prize Walks held in the late 19th century, generally at get togethers on plantations. Alternate names for the original form of dance were Chalk-Line Walk and Walk Around. W. R. Leigh was a famous artist mostly known for his western paintings.
