The bezel rotates with an appropriate amount of tension. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********This vintage early 1960's Zodiac Sea Wolf has the seldom seen "SWISS" only signed dial that has aged naturally and uniquely to a toasted cream hue. The lume on the hands, which emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, is missing in places and appears to have bunched up on the hour hour. The bezel, which shows wear, rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear and oxidation/pitting. The outside of the case back is stamped "ZODIAC SEAWOLF WATER-TESTED 20 ATM ESPECIALLY" and between the lugs at 6 o'clock are the stamped numbers "1465860." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "Zodiac Ltd." and "71" stamped AS 1700 automatic movement does not run. The time can be set without issue and the crown winds smoothly. According to the inside of the case back the movement appears to have only been serviced once, in February 1978. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38.5 mm including the crown and approximately 17.75 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 7.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
