VTG Diorio's-Egyptian Revival-Enamel Scarab/Ankh/Cobra Necklace

Please come back often, as we are always buying more goodies to list on ebay. This listing is for an extraordinary, vintage, unsigned Egyptian Revival necklace by Diorio's. This is an amazing piece! Egyptian styled jewelry was highly fashionable in the 1920s and Egyptian Revival statement jewelry such as this were a big thing in the fashion world during the late 1960s and early to mid 1970s. It's a little difficult to find information on Diorio's jewelry simply because the name is so close to Dior that search engines keep directing me that way. I believe this piece to most likely be a 1970s creation based on other listings of their jewelry I've found while researching this piece. This is just truly a remarkable and high-quality piece of fashion jewelry. This is an unsigned piece, but very clearly a Diorio's creation, as you can compare it to my other listings of signed Diorio's jewelry. Egyptian Revival pieces by Diorio's are very distinct. This necklace is a toned-down version of Diorio's Egyptian Revival, bib style necklaces, which use this same component for the top section. Diorio's signed their more ornate creations, which included larger, square shaped, very ornate pendants attached to a top piece like this one. The signature was on the back of the most elaborate components. This necklace is complete and in its original form, but it is made with only the top portion and chain used in the more elaborate pieces. Because Diorio's mass produced this component for use in a variety of Egyptian Revival styled jewelry, they didn't bother adding a stamp to the back. This necklace is perfect for collectors of vintage, Egyptian Revival, designer jewelry who also like to occasionally wear pieces from their collection, but don't feel comfortable wearing the large and ornate bib style pieces. This necklace still makes a statement but it's a little toned down and more versatile than the bib style necklaces by Diorio's. The pendant includes a central Scarab, with the Ankh and a cobra on either side. The scarab appears to be made from Lucite. Dark blue, burgundy red, emerald green, and turquoise enamel adorn the decorative pendant. The metal has an antiqued gold or bronze finish. The chain is also rather unique. The necklace's condition looks beautiful, but upon close inspection, it does show some wear and age. Please keep in mind that this is a 50 year old, if not older, item. The age-related damage is mainly confined to a few small nicks, chips, or hairline cracks here and there in the enamel. These are things you only notice if you are looking at the necklace up close, under the magnification and light of a jeweler's loop. With vintage jewelry that's near or over 50 years old, a few age-related issues are to be expected. I would still describe the necklace as being in great to excellent vintage condition. The chain length is 8.5 inches on each side, and it comes to a point on the pendant where it meets behind the scarab, so the necklace fits like a 17 inch necklace. The pendant measures 3 inches across and about 1.75 inches from top to bottom at its highest point. This is such an outstanding piece of vintage fashion that words don't do it justice so be sure to examine all the photos and use the zoom feature for a better idea of details and condition, and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
