This stoneware vessel can be used for decorative or practical purposes and the majolica designs are highly collectible. This vessel has a textured finish and is hand painted. This finish is called Effetto Lacca. The intricate design is painted in garnet, turquoise, black and fern green against a nutmeg brown background. Most of the Deruta family motifs are floral. or organic in some way so this pattern is very rare.
