Description: Watch using FEF 170 movement. Taken out of case, but everything including case, fancy crystal, some kind of sealing ring?, and two metal pieces not sure what are, is in box and looks great. The dial says Butex and is in great condition, see photo. My late father had all of this, movement, case, etc in small metal box. Looks like watch hardly worn. Probably lying untouched for about 60 years. Butex was brand of Buttes Watches SA, which apparently put name on watches with good quality ebauche until disappeared in quartz crisis. In online searches I find the same story over and over again behind the not household names on the watch dials on movements my father left. FEF 170, Swiss hand wound movement, from 1940’s or 1950’s . Movement is 8 ligne by 9 ligne, 18mm by 20.9 mm. 17 jewels, 18,000 beats. FEF was Fabrique d'Ébauches de Fleurier not serviced in decades. Fleurier is a Swiss town famous for watchmaking. This was in my late father’s work bench, He was a watchmaker from 1960 to his death in 1996. I have listed a few other movements.
