It has a metal core with a smooth plastic coating to give a comfortable hand-feel and to protect against surface damage. The fine toothing within the ratcheting mechanism contains 80 teeth for a short return angle of 4.5° and the tool itself makes use of a 3/8" drive to maximize torque. The safe lock keeps the socket-head in place with a push button. Below that is the switch lever, to efficiently switch directions.
