Description: Disston moved the firm to a new factory built in Tacony on the Delaware River in North Philadelphia. The Disston Saw Works became the largest saw manufacturing facility in the world. Disston built houses for his employees, a school, library, and music hall. Henry Disston died in 1878. Henry Disston & Sons was incorporated in 1886. The blade measures approximately 48 1/2" long with the handle 54" long. At the wide end, this blade measures 7 1/2" wide and 2 1/8" wide at the end. There are no broken teeth and measuring approximately 3/4" deep. In total, I have listed (over 25) or will be listing more very nice saws that I purchased from an individual's collection.
