Description: I have for sale one of the field mirrors that were made in France and brought to the United States in President Zachary Taylor era. The mirror looks to be made of tin and is lightly circulated. The mirror is complete but greatly spotted. It is complete with its stand and loop for hanging. On one side it shows an eagle with a shield and ribbon on the chest, and arrows and branch in the talons. Around the outside it reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and has 7 tiny stars. The other side has a circle and, in the center, it has the letters B.C. and the year 1844. Around the smaller center circle, it reads BREVETE A PARIS and SANS GARANTIE DU GOUVER. This mirror was patented in France and the Sans Garantie Du Gouver means Patent without government guarantees. Please see over 950 more collectibles for sale in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables.
